Anxiety
Anxiety is definitely something I’ve deal with everyday. Keeping it managed requires constant connection with Jesus. I feel so liberated when I am purposeful in my day to strengthen my relationship with God.
However, some days I do better than others. The key is to have strategies in place for when I feel myself spiraling into anxious thoughts. While I still struggle with anxiety, I can look back and know that I am so much stronger with it now. The secret is my faith and relationship with Jesus Christ.
There are two base verses that I fall back on in these moments. The first is Philippians 4: 6-7.
“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand.”
The second is 2 Chronicles 20:15 .
“For the battle is not yours but God’s.”
My biggest downfall is that I try to solve everything. Fighting my battles alone has never led me to success. And yet, I still try almost every time. Through reminder of these verses I continue to become better at giving it to God. It definitely takes less time for me to give it up to God than I used to at least!
